Yes, it is working.
At least with Ubuntu 9.04 and Wine we did it and solved also problems with the joystick.
Should work in every Linux distribution, but this is not confirmed.
Some bugs we can't solve exists, but this are only missing game sounds, so just a bit disturbing but after some time you want miss that sounds anymore.
Sounds which are not working:
Engine starts, engine stops, flaps extract and retract, gears in and out, shooting.
Here how to install it with Ubuntu:
First you have to install Wine.
Look at http://www.psychocats.net/ubuntu/wine
This page explains how to install it and how to install and use some application with it.
At the section "Using Wine" you do exactly what they suggest.
Download the game at http://www.airattack-central.com/downloads/AAInstaller21.exe and save the AAInstaller21.exe file.
Right-click than the AAInstaller19.exe to install Airattack.
In the context menu that appears, select Open with "Wine Windows Program Loader"
Than install Airattack in the same way as you do it with Windows XP (setup instructions)) but remove any space from the install location like "Air attack".
Look at the setup instructions for Airattack at http://www.airattack-central.com/getstar...on=installation to see how to install the game.
To play online go to our launch page, click at the "Join Arena" button, and open the ticket.aaa file with AiraStart.exe which is located at the .wine directory "/home/$USER/.wine/drive_c/GAMEFOLDER/"
Look at http://www.winehq.org/download/deb to get the latest version of Wine.
Normally not needed since it will work out of the box but an option if you have wine related problems.
Once installed you experience in the game some missing sounds like "gears, flaps, guns and engine start and stop sounds" are not available.
This is pretty normal and nothing can fix it.
Problems with the joystick maybe also appear, but for that we have a solution.
The settings for wine (wine configuration) could be left at default so you have a "640x480" window where the game is running.
You can have a full screen of the game if you untick the emulation of a virtual screen at default settings -> graphic in the default settings of the wine configuration.
If you run into any problem you can use our support tickets to ask.
